Reopened in 2011, after 30 years of restoration work, the unique grisaille paintings that adorn the interior of its dome were discovered, with an iconographic program of humanist and neoplatonic roots unique in Europe, which has earned it the nickname of Sistine Chapel of the Spanish Renaissance. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; It houses the Cathedral Museum that gathers a selection of the cathedral&#8217;s artistic treasures. It is divided into three rooms dedicated to the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Baroque, with a total of 49 pieces, ranging from the thirteenth to the twentieth century. The rooms are covered by the same Gothic-Mudejar ceiling whose beams are carved and polychrome, work of the mid-fifteenth century.
