Tarazona Cathedral<\/h2>\n

The cathedral of Tarazona is a unique example of a Gothic cathedral with an exceptional Mudejar (tower, dome and cloister with delicate latticework) and Renaissance legacy. Reopened in 2011, after 30 years of restoration work, the unique grisaille paintings that adorn the interior of its dome were discovered, with an iconographic program of humanist and neoplatonic roots unique in Europe, which has earned it the nickname of Sistine Chapel of the Spanish Renaissance. <\/span><\/p>\n

City Hall<\/h2>\n

The Town Hall was built as a trading post in the sixteenth century, shows on its facade a real marvel in the frieze depicting in detail the entry of Charles I in Ghent.<\/p>\n

Important remains of its walls are preserved, which can be visited in the upper part of the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

Episcopal Palace<\/h2>\n

The Episcopal Palace is a Renaissance building where the Hall of the Bishops stands out. It houses the Cathedral Museum that gathers a selection of the cathedral’s artistic treasures. It is divided into three rooms dedicated to the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Baroque, with a total of 49 pieces, ranging from the thirteenth to the twentieth century. The rooms are covered by the same Gothic-Mudejar ceiling whose beams are carved and polychrome, work of the mid-fifteenth century. They are connected by a gallery of semicircular arches, with magnificent views of the city, built in the 16th century. <\/span><\/p>\n

Its famous old bullring, octagonal in shape, is made up of three-story houses with large windows and arches on octagonal pillars.<\/span><\/p>\n

The monumental heritage continues with the church of La Magdalena, the church of San Miguel, the church of Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Merced, San Francisco, the convent of the Carmelites of Santa Ana… The streets and squares of the old town exude the medieval air of when Christians, Moors and Jews lived here. A visit to the Cinto neighborhood, the hanging houses and, of course, the Jewish quarter is a must. <\/span><\/p>\n
