Moncayo
The Moncayo, with its 2,313 meters of altitude, is the roof of the Iberian System and one of the most emblematic and mysterious peaks of the entire Iberian Peninsula.
Three of its peaks exceed 2,000 meters (Peña Negra with 2,118 m, the Lobera with 2,226 m and Moncayo itself with 2,316 m) and its geographical location, next to the Ebro valley, surprises tourists and travelers. In addition, from its summit the views are prodigious, since it dominates the entire landscape up to the Pyrenees.
With an area of 11,144 hectares, it occupies a large part of the regions of Aranda, Campo de Borja and Tarazona and Moncayo.
It is a paradise for naturalists because it starts at a very low altitude, about 400 meters above sea level (Ebro Valley) in just a few kilometers we ascend almost 2000 meters, with what this means: variety of forests, oaks, oaks, birches, beeches, pines, diversity of fauna and plants.
It is perfect for hikers who are going to enjoy nature on the many trails that can be done in the park.
This is an area of great interest for mycology lovers, as it is home to highly appreciated species such as Amanita caesarea and Boletus edulis.
