Borja and surroundings

The city of Borja is a town with a rich heritage (four museums, collegiate church, historic center), a wide gastronomic offer (do not hesitate to ask us where to go) and two internationally known attractions: The enology of the hand of the Route of the Grenache and the famous Ecce Homo that put this city in the mouth of the whole world about ten years ago.

In its historic center we can visit palaces such as the Casa de Aguilar, or the Casa de las Conchas, declared of Cultural Interest, and the Casa Consistorial, as well as the old Collegiate Church of Santa Maria.

In its wide range of museums, the best known museum is the Museum of Sacred Art, where you can admire a magnificent collection of Gothic painting among many other works of art. We especially like the Archaeological Museum, located in the old Romanesque church of San Miguel, a real gem.

Ecce Homo

Ecce Homo Borja

At 5 kilometers from the town of Borja is a unique enclave: the Sanctuary of Mercy, from the sixteenth century. In its chapel is where the famous painting of the Ecce Homo is located.

The wineries and wines of the Campo de Borja Denomination of Origin are an international benchmark in the world of wine, with a multitude of awards. Most of its wines stand out for using an autochthonous variety: the Garnacha. If you are interested in visiting any of its wineries, ask us for information. We have agreements with several of them so that you can visit their interior and enjoy a fantastic tasting of their wines.

In the region of Campo de Borja several towns stand out, especially Talamantes, the one located at the highest altitude of all. A small mountain enclave that will not disappoint you.

Another must visit in Bureta is the “Burobosque”, a magical and ideal place to go with children. It is an enchanted forest created by an initiative of the association Bureteando to fight against depopulation. It consists of tree houses, made with recycled natural materials from the area, no plastics are used.
