VI Reenactment of the entrance of the Catholic Monarchs into Borja
September 1, 2 and 3 will be held the VI Recreation of the entrance of the Catholic Monarchs in Borja. Fantastic dates to come to Campo de Borja and enjoy its rich history, its heritage and its people.
In August 1492, of the Catholic Monarchs accompanied by their entire entourage, including the Infantas and Prince Don Juan. The attractiveness of the historical context of the date, very close to the discovery of America, and the personal and political reasons that motivated it, finally tipped the balance in favor of this historical passage.
Through various scenes that take place in different spaces, the recreation recalls that historical event by linking various episodes that, although not contemporary, took place immediately afterwards: the gratitude to his friend and advisor, the illustrious Borjan Mosem Juan de Coloma; the personal recognition to Pedro Lázaro, also from Borja, who would save his life in Barcelona; the imposition of Bandas Granas with royal insignia to Justice and Jurors as a reward for the loyalty of the city to the crown; and, finally, his attendance at the first General Meeting of the Santa Hemandad, which took place in the collegiate church of Santa María.
